8 TIPS FOR PACKING A HAND LUGGAGE CASE

Although I try to avoid traveling with a hand luggage suitcase as much as possible, it still happens a few times a year. Because the booking of a large suitcase is too expensive, or because I only leave a few days and do not allow myself to take a large suitcase. Do you exactly want to know how I do this? In this article I give you 8 tips.

1. PURCHASE A LIGHTWEIGHT HAND LUGGAGE SUITCASE WITH A GOOD CLASSIFICATION
When you travel with a hand luggage suitcase, you can not take so many stuff. Firstly because the dimensions of a hand luggage suitcase are limited, but also because you often have to keep a maximum weight in mind. This is different for each airline company, but the fact remains: you simply can not take too much weight. However, you can ensure that your suitcase stays as light as possible in a certain way. And the first step is to purchase a lightweight carry-on suitcase. Preferably also with a good suitcase, so you can pack as efficiently as possible.

2. ASK YOURSELF: WHAT KIND OF CLOTHING AND SHOES DO I NEED TO HAVE ON THE DESTINATION?
Before you pick out the clothes and shoes that you want to take with you on a journey, it is useful to first ask yourself what kind of clothes and shoes you prefer to wear at the destination you are going to. What type of vacation are you going to do? And what temperature is it there? I often take clothes that I think look beautiful, but do not wear them at all. Because it is not comfortable enough or too cold / hot. So it is a shame to fill your hand luggage suitcase if you can take so little with you. But what helps me nowadays is good and realistic thinking about my choice for clothes and shoes. Okay I know this is really hard! For my trip to Indonesia I had lots of clothes with me, but not enough…. Luckily we had the best resort ever where I can wash my clothes. You can find the resort over here. Together with Booking.com I can give you, after your payment and stay at the accommodation, a 25 euro pay back on a booking from 50 euro. How great is that?! The only thing you need to do is click on the link and book your favorite hotel. After the booking is finished  and payed, you received the 25 euro back.

3. ROLL ON YOUR CLOTHING
Maybe you already knew the tip of rolling up your clothes, but I still want to name him in this article. For real: you can get a lot more in your hand luggage when you roll up your clothes. Oh, and: your clothes arrive much less wrinkled at the destination. What is especially nice with clothing that is made of fabrics that wrinkle quickly.

4. CHOOSE FOR CLOTHES WHICH ARE ALL COMBINED WITH EACH OTHER
Once you know what clothing and shoes you are really going to wear at your destination, you can start combining garments. What I do today is choosing two to three colors and only packing clothes. So that they can all be combined with each other and you can create many different outfits.

5. PUT SMALL ITEMS IN YOUR SHOES TO SAVE SPACE
Now we are busy with tips to save space in your hand luggage suitcase: stop your shoes full of small items, such as socks, underwear, swimwear and accessories. This way you prevent crushed and distorted shoes, but you also use all the space in your suitcase.

6. PLEASE TAKE THE LITTLE AS POSSIBLE BEAUTYPRODUCTS OR PURCHASE MINI PACKINGS
I will tell you honestly: I myself am very bad at this. When I travel, I always take two large toilet bags. Not smart, I know – yet it happens. So it would be smart if I buy mini-packages from my beauty products in the future so that I can put everything in one toilet bag. And that also brings me to the next point:

7. TAKE YOUR BIGGEST AND HARDEST ITEMS DURING TRAVEL
Although this may sound logical, I often see people walking on slippers or in a t-shirt at the airport. With bulging bags and suitcases in their hands. No matter how hot it is or will be at a destination, I always draw the largest and heaviest items when I travel. This simply makes a huge difference in space and weight.

8. PLACE ALL THE ITEMS THAT YOU MUST TAKE OUT OF YOUR SUITCASE AT THE CUSTOMS ON THE TOP
On top of my hand luggage suitcase, I always insist that I have the items that I need to get at the customs, available leg. This way I will be ready in time and the line of people behind me does not have to wait for me for hours. Fine for myself, but also for others.
